Mitsubishi Electric Diamond Vision™ Displays for UVA, Nebraska and Texas A&M
WARRENDALE, Pa., – June 6, 2006 – Students and fans at the University of Virginia, Texas A & M and the University of Nebraska will be greeted by new Mitsubishi Electric Diamond Vision™ displays when they return to campus this fall.
At UVA, four 9’ x 16’ LEDerBoard displays make up the scoreboard at the new John Paul Jones Arena, while two more grace the lobby/concourse of the 15,000-seat arena. The arena, which is the largest in Virginia, is home to the Cavaliers’ men’s and women’s basketball teams, and will host concerts, seminars and other community events.
Football fans at Nebraska’s 80,000-seat Memorial Stadium will be watching replays and other messages on three new LEDerBoard displays, part of an expansion that added 7,000 seats and new luxury boxes. The 34' x 117' screen above the North Stadium is the largest display currently installed at a college stadium in the United States. Mitsubishi Electric also installed two new displays on the southeast and southwest towers of the stadium, including one high-definition screen.
In College Station, Texas A & M basketball, baseball and football fans will watch the Aggies on Diamond Vision LED displays, as well as on a new 19’ x 20’ mobile screen that can be used for soccer and softball games and for overflow crowds. The 82,000-seat Kyle Field now boasts a 54’ x 74’ LEDerBoard which is complemented by a 4’ x 765’ LEDerAd ribbon display ringing the stadium. Reed Arena, which is home to A & M’s men’s and women’s basketball team and other events, is getting a Diamond Vision scoreboard comprised of four 8’ x 15’ displays. The 12,500-seat arena will also feature a 2’ x 614’ LEDerAd. And 7,000-seat Olsen Field baseball facility is also getting a new scoreboard, a 15’ x 20’ Diamond Vision LEDerBoard with video replay capabilities.

In September, Mitsubishi Electric will complete the installation of the world’s largest high-definition video display, a 37’ x 218’, 8,000-square foot LED board at Tokyo Race Course.
