CYPRESS, Calif., Sept. 26, 2005
— Mitsubishi Electric US Holdings, its parent
company, Mitsubishi Electric Corporation of Japan, and the Mitsubishi Electric
America Foundation are donating more than $250,000 in cash and products to
hurricane relief efforts. The funds will be distributed among three national
organizations: The American Red Cross, America’s Second Harvest and Feed the
Children.
“We are honored that our employees have made helping survivors of the recent hurricanes a top priority,” said Akira Tasaki, director and chief representative, the Americas Region, Mitsubishi Electric Corporation, and president and CEO of Mitsubishi Electric & Electronics USA, Inc. “It is important that we show our support for all of those who now must pick up their lives and deal with the devastation.”
Mitsubishi Electric US Holdings, headquartered in Cypress, Calif., is composed of group companies with manufacturing, sales and research facilities in 30 locations in North America, including Mitsubishi Electric & Electronics USA; Mitsubishi Electric Research Laboratories; Mitsubishi Digital Electronics America; Mitsubishi Electric Automotive America; Mitsubishi Electric Automation; and Mitsubishi Electric Power Products.
In addition to their companies’ monetary donations, employee philanthropic groups at Mitsubishi Electric locations across North America have also been collecting funds and supplies for victims of the storms, spearheading drives for clothing, food, blood and other necessities. Employees’ cash donations are being matched dollar-for-dollar by the Mitsubishi Electric America Foundation.
